I am Kelsey Davis. I am 18 years old and a freshman at APU. I'm a CBA major in the broadcast/documentary track (my emphasis is on documentaries) and a psychology minor. I might pick up a soc minor too if I have time. I love filming and especially editing videos and I really want to travel the world and make documentaries that raise awareness and spread God's love and word to others. I'd also really like to make music videos at some point, though I don't know how that will fit in with the plan. Currently my only movie editing experience is on iMovie, but I'm going to be using Final Cut Pro to edit my chase scene video soon, and I'm very excited about that!
I have a brother named Evan. He is 15 and has Down Syndrome. I also have a lot of pets. I have a female parakeet named Buddie, two female finches named Rhapsody and Harmony, and two orange tabby's named Memo and Abby. Memo is my 4 year old cat...he goes crazy over any kind of string. We adopted him from another family when he was 2. Abby is our new kitten...she's about a year old now. She plays fetch with hair bands (I'm not kidding....you flick it and she'll run after it, pick it up in her mouth, and bring it back to you...she learned it from the dogs in the kennel...we adopted her from there) and chases her tail and doesn't even react when we put Buddie on her head...whereas Memo chases Buddie and tries to eat her, lol. So yeah, I love cats, especially orange tabby's. I plan to own 2 cats, 2 rats, and a monkey someday. I also love wolves...wish I could own one of those too, lol!
I was born and raised in Maryland. Laurel to be specific...technically Scaggsville, but since we don't have a post office, it doesn't really count. That's halfway between Baltimore and D.C. I prefer Baltimore...I think D.C. is highly overrated...I probably just take it for granted though. Anyway, I love Maryland, especially the Maryland blue crabs there and our crabcakes!!! I've lived in the same house my whole life...this is my first time living anywhere else, and I'm loving it. CA is awesome!!!
I'm a Christian (in case you couldn't guess, seeing as how I attend APU). I love God and I really feel that he is calling me to spread His love through film. I don't know how it will all work out yet, but I'm excited.
Hmmm.....as to other interests. I have varied, but specific interests, just ask my roommate, lol. I say that because my walls are covered with wolf picutres, Naruto pictures, Star Trek: The Original Series pictures, and I'm going to be adding Doctor Who picures to that mix very soon. Basically I love science fiction, especially shows like Doctor Who, Star Trek: TOS, Sliders, Quantum Leap, and Mutant X. I also like anime and manga, especially Naruto and D N Angel. And I love movies...I really like the old musicals of the silver screen. They just don't make movies like that anymore. Some of my all time favorite old movies are For Me and My Gal, The Sound of Music, Showboat, and The Music Man. Of course, newer movies, especially romantic comedies like Two Week's Notice, About a Boy, and She's the Man, are awesome too. And my all-time favorite movie is Moulin Rouge!!!
So who am I? I'm basically a tomboy...I hate dressing up and I love baseball and being active (though not running just for the sake of running...). I'm also a trekkie I guess, lol, and a sci-fi addict. And an anime nerd. Oh, and I'm addicted to facebook. What else...? Hmm...I love spending time with my friends. Friends are probably one of the most important things in my life. I really enjoy having deep conversations about stuff that really matters, and of course just joking around about the most random stuff. Oh, and loyalty is basically my trait...or my favorite trait anyway. I believe in being totally loyal to friends and if I had to choose one trait to define me, that would be it.
Oh, other quick important facts- I can't sing, dance, or act. I can play the flute, but not well. Basically, I stick to being behind the camera or in the editing room, lol. Oh, and I can't spell, so don't sue me if there are a million mistakes in this blog. :P
But yeah, so that's me. My Alpha group nickname is Wolf, FYI. Just thought you should know, lol. :)

OMG! Kelsey, your blog post was amazing! I read it, and I was so impressed! I really admire the fact that you know exactly what you want from life, and that you have high morals and stick to them.
Even though we're not as close as we used to be back in middle school, after reading your entry, I really felt like now I understand exactly who you are. You are a strong, awesome person!
As a side note, I took the Strengths Quest test last summer before I went to a program called CrossRoad. It was a church-related thing, and I feel like taking the test really helped me to understand who I am. Like you, I am not the most assertive, outgoing person, and I do value really knowing people on a deep level.

I think individualization is definately a good description of you, as far as I can tell. I can see that you take care in creating deep friendships with select people. Everything else seems like good descriptions of yourself also!
